A Recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day Presented by Save Native Sites | October 9 and 10

In recognition of the area’s first inhabitants and Indigenous Peoples day, Save Native Sites is presenting talks on the history of the Munsee people, where they lived and where they are now. Also, visitors can enjoy a video presentation by Mark Peters, Chief of the Munsee-Delaware Nation in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Chief Peters has been the historian for the Munsee-Delaware Nation for over 30 years. He has worked in the logging & oil industries, as a Social Worker, and in Criminal and Family law as a Member of the Law Society of Ontario. His present focus is on determining and finding ways to exercise Inherent Indigenous Rights. Presentations start at noon.

The Big Sip | Bethel Woods | October 9 and 10

Personalized Seed Engraving with Sergey Jivetin | Cragsmore | October 23

Artist Sergey Jivetin will create a limited number of customized seed engravings for people who would like to bring sentimental seeds and share a relevant story. Peace, Love, and Pumpkins | Bethel Woods | October 15-30

From October 15-31 from 6:30 - 10 PM, enjoy this family-friendly walk through the grounds of Bethel Woods, the site of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival. You’ll see unique, hand-carved jack-o-lanterns and glowing pumpkin art, featuring Woodstock festival icons, dinosaurs, mermaids, Big Foot, and more. They offer Sensory-Friendly days, student discount days, wear-your-costume days, and you can even purchase a trick or treat bag of candy to enjoy on your walk. Tickets and info can be found here.

Night Market at Peace, Love, and Pumpkins | Bethel Woods | October 29-31

If you’re visiting Peace, Love and Pumpkins on Halloween Weekend, enjoy the night market at Bethel Woods with more than 50 craft and specialty food vendors. More info can be found here.

Bat-O-Ween | West Hurley Park | October 30

This fun-filled celebration is part of Bat Conservation International’s Bat Week to educate folks about the importance of Bats in our environment. Enjoy bat crafts, bat education booths, face painting, Haunted House and Costume Contest, food and vendors.  Information: mastergardener2000@gmail.com.

UlsterCorps Zombie Escape | Williams Lake | October 30

Kick off your Halloween at UlsterCorps’ 11th Annual Zombie Escape Saturday October 30th at Williams Lake in Rosendale. Events include a 5k timed trail run, 2k walk and a free 1k Fun Run for kids. The Zombie Escape is UlsterCorps’ primary annual fundraiser, and a perfect family friendly way to start your Halloween while supporting a great cause. Enjoy the spectacular fall foliage and beautiful trails at Williams Lake, while passing socially distanced zombies and other spooky surprises hiding in the woods, tunnels and caves (no flag belts this year due to COVID).
