The Perfect Catskills Day Trip for the Devoted Foodie
The Catskills have always been known for their lush mountains, trout-filled rivers, and rich history, but in the last few years, the food of the Catskills has become more popular than ever. From local breweries to bespoke tasting menus to cool new restaurants, the Catskills is a perfect weekend getaway for foodies. Here’s our Catskills Day Trip Itinerary for the devoted foodies out there:
If you’re staying at the Inn, don’t miss out on breakfast. With locally sourced coffee, farm-to-table produce, and a dedicated kitchen staff, the Inn’s breakfast is the best-kept secret in town.
Get on the road to Livingston Manor, which is a scenic 25 minute drive from the Inn. There’s lots to enjoy in town - the only thing stopping you is being too full!
Brandenburg Bakery is great for the coffee lovers. This spot features pastries made from owner Sarah Flynn’s heirloom family recipes. Don’t miss out on the butter cake or chocolate croissants.
For lunch, Main Street Farm has both a cafe and market. You can grab all sorts of artisanal sandwiches and salads at the cafe, and peruse the market shelves for local honey, farm fresh eggs, and more.
Everyone around town has been talking about the Kaatskeller! They serve up wood-fired pizza cooked onsite, craft cocktails, and a unique beer and wine list. If you can, grab a seat in the garden if the weather is nice enough.
The Red Rose Tavern serves the best burgers around, and is a relatively short drive away in Roscoe. Tell Melissa we said hi!
We might be biased, but we strongly recommend you enjoy at least a few dinners at the Inn during your stay. Our world-class kitchen is headed up by Chef Galen Sampson and his team. Much of the produce you’ll enjoy is grown in our very own gardens, and the other ingredients that make up your meal are largely sourced through local farms and suppliers. Each night, the Inn offers a different five course farm-to-table fine dining menu dreamed up by Chef Galen. Complement your meal with a local beer, wine pairing, or one of the signature cocktails our expert bartender whips up.
If you’re not too full, walk a few steps to the Clubhouse and enjoy the Inn’s 24/7 Self-Serve Ice Cream Parlor!
