The Best Summer Farmers Markets in the Catskills

The Best Summer Farmers Markets in the Catskills

At the Beaverkill Valley Inn, we’re big fans of farm-to-table food and locally-sourced produce. In fact, it’s a mission of ours to use as much locally grown food in our kitchen as we can. You’ll often see Chef Galen and his team tending to the produce and herbs in the Inn’s gardens. What we can’t make ourselves we source from local farms and vendors. We also love Farmers Markets - they give us a chance to check out new vendors and the unique provisions that you can only find up here north of NYC. Here are some of our favorite Farmers Markets:

Kauneonga Lake Farmers Market

This market is open on Saturdays from mid-June to early September, this market is about 40 minutes south of the Inn. Enjoy the spectacular lake views and cute local shops and cafes when you’re done browsing the local wares!

Roscoe Farmers Market

Located about 20 minutes from the Inn, this market features some of our favorite local vendors. It’s held on Sundays from 10-2 from May to October - stop there on your drive home to pick up some farm fresh veggies. Don’t forget to stop by the Roscoe Brewery, too!

Catskills Mountainkeeper Market in Liberty

Our friends at Catskill Mountainkeeper host this market to promote local, sustainable agriculture, increased consumer awareness and access to healthy foods, while enhancing the value of our communities and economic opportunities for farmers, small businesses and artisans. We like that it’s held on Fridays - you can check it up on your way to the Inn!

Those are just a few of the great Farmers Markets in our area this summer. For a full list and lots more information, head to Homegrown with Heart’s website.
