Fun Things to Do In the Catskills This May | Updated 2021

Now that more people are vaccinated and things are getting closer to “normal” here in the Catskills, we’re excited that there are more fun events to share this spring! Here are some great things to do in May 2021 in the Catskills.

All month long - Bethel Woods Special Exhibit Events

Bethel Woods has a super groovy special exhibit this year: Lights, Color, Fashion: Psychedelic Posters and Patterns of 1960s San Francisco. Not only can you see it at the Museum, but you can also experience a bunch of interesting talks and dining experiences to go along with the exhibit throughout May. Check out a full list of events at this link!

May 8 - Roscoe Beer Co. Wild Ramp Festival

This is a super fun event with a farmer’s market, live music, games and activities, and craft beer. There will also be an educational tent dedicated to local agriculture and information about ramps, plus some sampling stations so you can taste the ramps - and an after party from 4-7.

You can upgrade to the VIP experience and purchase tickets to the Farm to Table food & craft beer pairing, featuring some amazing local chefs. As a VIP you will get to enjoy a sit down presentation of several ramp inspired dishes perfectly paired with one of our beers, plus a VIP goody bag to take with you. More info can be found here.

May 15 - Essentials for Hiking with Sawkill Creek Outfitters

Jay and Joan Manasco of Sawkill Creek Outfitters share their tips and information on hiking basics. Whether you are new to the outdoors, or just plan on spending more time on the trails, this presentation will provide you with how to prepare and top considerations for before you head outside. Expect to learn about backpack styles, outdoor apparel and footwear, gear tips and more!

FREE event, but registration is required - more info and register at this link.

Memorial Day Weekend - Bethel Woods Memorial Day Market

End your month (and kick off Memorial Day Weekend) with this free and fun event at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. There will be a farmer’s market, great vendors, and even a printmaking lesson. More info can be found here.
