Welcome to the idyllic Catskill Mountains! Our little enclave of the world has some of the best-kept secrets in fine dining. With so many amazing small, local farms and suppliers and a close proximity to New York City (just two hours by car), it’s no wonder that so many talented chefs have made their way up to the Catskills to enjoy the fresh air and wealth of amazing ingredients.

We’re sharing our list of the best restaurants in the Catskills, from rustic pizza spots under the stars to traditional steakhouses. We usually only give this list out to our guests at our Inn, but we figured these amazing restaurants were too good to keep a secret!

Best Restaurants in Lew Beach, New York

The Beaverkill Valley Inn

Okay, us first! Forgive us for tooting our own horn, but the Inn is renowned for its farm-to-table dining. We welcomed Chef Tommy Finch in 2020, and his inventive cuisine paired with Kaitlyn Finch’s creative cocktails and wine pairings have been a wild hit. The Inn’s kitchen features an organic vegetable garden steps from the dining room, a kitchen stocked with spices, ingredients, and fresh produce procured from local farms and suppliers, pasture-raised, free range meat, and breads, pastries, and desserts all baked in-house. For foodies the world over, the Inn has become a destination for delicious, inventive menus featuring the best the Catskills has to offer.

The Kaatskeller- Open for dinner. Cocktails, beer and wine menu. Featuring wood fired pizza, wings, meatballs and soups.

The Arnold (on Shandelee)- Casual dining. Full Tavern Fare. Featuring local ingredients including trout from our world famous rivers. Full bar service.

Northern Farm House Pasta- Fresh Pasta and Ravioli using local farm products. Wine menu and local beer. Menu changes weekly. Reservations are not required but are recommended.

Riverside Café and Lodge (Chef / Owner, Tammy is a CIA Alumni)- American Cuisine. Nightly specials featuring choice meats and seafood, bread and family style salad with entrées’. Ask to sit in the glass room overlooking the Beaverkill River. Casual dress, Angler’s welcome. Full bar.
